The Ford Fiesta S2000 Rallyteam from Zwickau are back. After they drove last year with Felix Herbold in Germany and some international IRC events, it was very quiet what they will do in 2012. The team has prepared the car for sold it in April. But two weeks ago, 2-times world champion Walter Röhrl has called with the team and tell them, they should support a new German talent – Raffael Sulzinger. He drove last year at Prazsky Rallysprint with a Ford Fiesta R2 and finished in 26.places. His early start into the 2012 season was during the Jänner Rallye where he drove the ex “Valda” Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX and saw the finish ramp in Freistadt on 20.place.
After that call, RobotRacing try to fix everything to start at Winkinger Rallye, 2.round of the German Championship 2012. Sulzinger will drive a full rebuilt car with some new EVO parts. He will drive the other round of the championship, but the financial is not 100%sure for all rounds. We will see if he can drive all rounds and how fast he can go with that car in comparison to Mark Wallenwein on his Skoda Fabia S2000.
Many interests are for the second round of the DRM 2012. Over 106 drivers are on the entry list. Below it are 7 Super 2000 cars, 2 from Germany and 5 from Denmark. The Porsche drivers hope of nice and try weather, so that they can try to win this tarmac event. For DRS Champion 2010, Olaf Dobberkau, will this the first rally with his new Porsche 997 GT3. He will drive the complete DRM and DRS season. So we hope he will do the Luzicke Hory Rally and Rally Bohemia with his red Porsche too. It would be a great show, to see that category of rally car again in Czech Republic.
